Kief Davidson is an American filmmaker who was born on May 12, 1970. He collaborated with Cori Shepherd Stern on the documentary short Open Heart, which earned a nomination for an Oscar Award in the category of Best Documentary Short at the 2013 Academy Awards.Davidson, who was born and raised in Brooklyn, got his start in the entertainment industry as an editor for comedy and music videos. He started the production and advertising firm known as Urban Landscapes all by himself. Davidson calls Los Angeles both his home and his place of employment. In particular, the film that was released in 2005 under the title The Devil’s Miner earned him accolades at a number of different film festivals. One of these accolades was the Best New Documentary Filmmaker – Special Jury Mention award at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2005.
