Willie Aames Bio

Willie Aames, who is also known by his stage name Willie Ames, is a well-known American actor, film and television director, television producer, and screenwriter. He was born Albert William Upton on July 15, 1960. The roles that brought him the most fame were playing Tommy Bradford, one of the children of Tom Bradford, on the 1970s television series Eight Is Enough, TJ Latimer in Family, Buddy Lembeck on the 1980s sitcom Charles in Charge, and the title character in the direct-to-video series Bibleman.

He is best known for these roles. Aames got his start in the entertainment industry as a youngster in the late 1960s making appearances on television programs such as Gunsmoke, The Wonderful World of Disney, Adam-12, and The Courtship of Eddie’s Father. On the ABC television show The Odd Couple, which began airing in 1971, he was the first actor to portray the position of Leonard Unger, the son of Felix Unger. Leif Garrett would eventually assume the role of Leonard Unger. In the cartoon series Wait Till Your Father Gets Home, which debuted the following year, he provided his voice for the role of Jamie Boyle.
