Adekunle’s passion for music began to emerge when he was growing up as a result of hearing songs by artists such as King Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey. During his teenage years, he joined the junior choir of the church that he attended, and a few years later, at the age of 15, he wrote the first song he ever wrote. After disbanding a music group that he and a buddy had created while they were still in school, Adekunle began his career as a solo artist in 2014.

After publishing a photo that had been altered in Photoshop of him hugging Tiwa Savage on several social media platforms, he was given the nickname “King of Photoshop.” It was on December 19th, 2014 that he released “Sade,” which was a cover of “Story of My Life” by One Direction. The song received widespread praise from music critics and was put in for consideration at The Headies 2015 for the award for Best Alternative Music.
