Azealia Amanda Banks is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Her birth name is Azealia Zili Banks, and she was born on May 31, 1991. She was born and raised in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City, and she started putting out music on Myspace in the year 2008 before she was signed to XL Recordings when she was 18 years old. After that, she secured contracts with both Interscope Records and Polydor Records, but they were severed in July 2013. Banks launched her own independent record company called Chaos & Glory Recordings once she decided to pursue a career as a solo artist. Both Parlophone and Warner Records have her on their rosters at the moment.
